About Beautiful Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is one of a most beautiful Island of the Indian ocean. Its called as the Pearl Of the Indian Ocean. There are so many beautiful places around the Island. While there are beautiful beaches around Sri Lanka, there are a huge number of attractive places inside the country. Sri Lanka has unique culture, geological features. Sri Lanka has different weather conditions. Center of the country weather is balmy and other sides being hot. You can experience both cold and hot water within few hour travel.
Sri Lanka's history goes to more than 3000 years. A lot of historical palaces are Island wide. According to historical evidence, there are ancient places from the Era of King Ravana. Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Kandy are the most significant historical places in Sri Lanka.
In 1948, after nearly 150 years of British rule, Sri Lanka became an independent country, and it was admitted to the United Nations seven years later. The country is a member of the Commonwealth and the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation. Sri Jayawardanapura is the capital of Sri Lanka while Colombo is the popular and busiest city in Sri Lanka. Anyone can reach to Colombo around an hour from the Main airport in Katunayaka.
